TEEN GIRL’S HANDBAG STOLEN IN NORTH BELFAST ROBBERY

PSNIPOLICE are appealing for information following a robbery in the Havana Court area of north Belfast in the early hours of yesterday morning, June 29.

It is reported that at approximately 3am, an 18 year old female was dragged to the ground from behind by an unknown male who struggled with her in an attempt to get her mobile phone from her hand.

The male then made off with the woman’s clutch bag which she had dropped during the struggle; the bag contained the woman’s passport, a bank card and a sum of cash.

The man is described as being in his mid 20’s, approximately 5’8”, slim build, short dark hair with bushy eyebrows, light stubble around the jaw area and wearing dark jeans with a top with a full zip at the front.

The man spoke with a local accent.

The bag was later handed into police at Tennent Street by a member of the public.

Police would ask anyone who witnessed this incident or who has any information to contact police at Tennent Street on the non-emergency number, 101.

Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
