Oglaigh na hEireann behind spate of shootings in west Belfast

FOUR men have been charged with a number of terrorist offences after being arrested by detectives investigating dissident republican activity.

The men – 37, 58 and two 47-year-olds – will appear in Lisburn Magistrates’ Court on Saturday morning.

They were arrested following searches in west Belfast and Dunmurry linked to Oglaigh na hEireann (ONH).

The searches were in relation to punishment style attacks on Tuesday, 24 June.

The four men were charged with directing terrorism, membership of a proscribed organisation, false imprisonment, possession of a firearm with intent and gathering of information likely to be of use to terrorists.
