DETECTIVES in Tennent Street CID have arrested a 42 year old man following an aggravated burglary in the Glencairn Way area of Belfast.

He is currently in custody helping officers with their enquiries.

On Tuesday, 24 June it was reported that a man, armed with a knife, had entered a house in the Glencairn Way area. The male occupant of the house fended the man off, who then left the scene on foot.

The householder did not sustain any injuries, however he was left very badly shaken.

Detectives would appeal to anyone who has any information about this incident to contact them at Tennent Street on the non emergency number 101.
