MAN STABBED IN WEST BELFAST

Woodbourne PSNI stationDETECTIVES are investigating after a 17 year old male was stabbed in the Quadrant Place area of West Belfast earlier today.

It’s understood the victim was confronted by a male armed with a knife at the front door of his house at around 3pm.

A 51 year old woman who was also in the property at the time came to the teenager’s assistance and tried to shut the door against the male. She sustained a minor cut to her arm in the scuffle.

It’s understood the victim then chased the assailant and was stabbed a number of times outside the property.

He has been taken to hospital however his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Detectives at Woodbourne CID would like to speak to witnesses or anyone with information.
