DETECTIVES in east Belfast are appealing for information following a stabbing incident in the early hours of this morning.

A mobile police patrol received a report around 3.10 am that two people had been stabbed.

Officers arrived at the scene and found a 19 year old man and a 24 year old woman with injuries.

Police believe the injuries may have been caused by a broken bottle.

Both were taken to hospital for treatment.

Detectives are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or was in the area at the time and who may have any information that will assist them with their enquiries to contact CID in Musgrave on the non-emergency number 101.
