MAN ATTACKED AND ASSAULTED IN NORTH BELFAST

PSNIPOLICE are appealing for information following an assault in the New Lodge Road area of north Belfast in the early hours of this morning.

Officers received a report that around 2.35 am that a 24-year-old man was assaulted by a number of unknown persons.

“The man sustained injuries to his face and was taken to hospital by ambulance. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening,” said a PSNI spokesperson.

“Police would ask anyone who witnessed this incident or who has any information to contact Police at York Road on the non-emergency number, 101.

“Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
