POLICE have called in Army technical officers over a suspicious object.

The object brought to Lisburn police station by an unsuspecting member of the public which sparked an alert among police at the station.

The station has now been closed as ATO examine the object.

As a result, police have closed Lisburn’s Barrack Street in Lisburn to both the public and traffic.

Pedestrians and motorists are asked to avoid the area and seek an alternative route while the alert is ongoing.
