A STUDENT remains critically ill in hospital following a stabbing incident at the Belfast Met college in Millfield.

Police say one male is currently in hospital in a critical condition in the Royal Victoria Hospital.

A second male who was detained at the scene is also being treated in hospital for non life threatening injuries.

Paramedic crew and police raced to the scene after the alarm was raised.

The stabbing is alleged to have happened in a toilet block and students said they noticed a “man lying on the ground” and a lot of blood around him.
