THE NI21 was clinging onto political life by a thread tonight after two senior member resigned from the party executive.

It is reported that chair Tina McKenzie and executive member John Hillis have now quit as the party implodes after a week of infighting.

The wheels came off the NI21 bandwagon when the party leader Basil McCrea this week announced that from now on in the Assembly it would no longer be designated as ‘Unionist’ but as ‘Other’.

Within hours deputy party John McAllister hit out saying at the move saying the party was “dysfunctional”.

The announcements came before the polls closed in the local government and European elections at 10 pm.
