TICKETS TO GAME OF THRONES EXHIBITION GO ON RELEASE

WESTEROS DESCENDS ON BELFAST:THE Northern Ireland Tourist Board (NITB), in partnership with Northern Ireland Screen and Belfast City Council, has announced that tickets to the highly anticipated HBO® Game of Thrones® Exhibition, which returns to Northern Ireland from June 11 – 15, 2014 will go on release on May 8.

This is the second time the exhibition has come to Belfast, which this year will take place at Belfast Waterfront.

Marie-Therese O’Neill from NITB explained: “We are delighted to announce that tickets to this exciting exhibition which gives fans around the country a unique insight into the show, are free and will go on release via www.waterfront.co.uk on May, 8 at 9am.

“The exhibition will focus on the storyline and events of Season 3 but there will be a few surprises from the fourth season, bringing the action right up-to-date.”

Game of Thrones®, currently HBO®’s premier production and one of the most popular and successful fantasy TV series ever made, is shot on location in Northern Ireland and features the Cushendun Caves, Murlough Bay, Ballintoy Harbour, Larrybane, Antrim plateau, Castle Ward, Inch Abbey and Downhill Strand.

Marie-Therese continued: “Game of Thrones® has been hugely successful for HBO® but also for Northern Ireland as our stunning mountains, forests, lakes and countryside, now familiar to millions of people around the world, have helped to create the magical backdrop that much of the show’s action is filmed against.”

Tickets for the exhibition will only be available from either Belfast Waterfront website www.waterfront.co.uk or by calling the Waterfront Box Office (028) 9033 4455.

Exhibition opening hours will be 10am-9pm daily and customers will be required to reserve a time slot for their entry to the exhibition.

Tickets, which are free of charge, will be limited to a maximum of 4 per person/booking. Please Note: tickets will NOT be available from the Waterfront or Ulster Hall box office counters.

The free Game of Thrones® Exhibition will allow fans to enter the fantasy-world of Westeros and explore places like Kings Landing and ‘climb the wall’ at the new Oculus Rift interactive area and enjoy over 100 original artefacts, including costumes, weapons, armour, set miniatures, storyboards and model dragons.

Fans who attend the exhibition can explore the many displays which include;

Costumes, props, armour and weapons – created by artisans whose extraordinary craftsmanship has lent authenticity to the show since its inception, the collection includes a magnificent costume display featuring cloaks, dresses and armour; iconic artifacts such as model dragons and eggs; weaponry comprising of crossbows, daggers, spears, hatchets and swords; crowns and headdresses; jewelry; books, letters and maps; House banners; storyboards and much more.

The Oculus Rift Interactive Experience – fans will have the opportunity to “climb the wall” by riding an elevator at Castle Black.

Iron Throne – fit for any king or queen, fans will be able to take their photo on a precise replica of the Iron Throne from the series to post and share on social media sites.

Other areas that fans can explore include Kings Landing, Dragonstone, Bran & Hodor and a Memorial area.

The exhibition will also display an array of high end, official Game of Thrones® merchandise from the HBO Shop®.
