GHOULS ATTACK WW1 AND WW2 HEADSTONES IN BELFAST CITY CEMETERY

belfast city cemeteryPOLICE in west Belfast are appealing for information following a report of criminal damage to war veteran graves at the City Cemetery  in the Falls Road area on Tuesday 22nd April.

Sometime since Tuesday 15th April, one headstone has been smashed and 13 others were damaged.

A “Cross of Sacrifice” War memorial has also been extensively covered in graffiti.

Police are appealing to anyone who has noticed any suspicious activity in the cemetery over the past week to contact them in Woodbourne on the new non-emergency number 101.

Information can also be passed anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

The damage has been caused in an area of the cemetery for war dead from WW1 & WW2
