MAN SERIOUSLY ASSAULTED IN BELFAST CITY CENTRE

Police crime scene picDETECTIVES at Musgrave police station are investigating a serious assault in Belfast city centre last night during which a man sustained face and head injuries.

The 46 year old victim was attacked and pushed to the ground by two men around 9.30 pm.

They then stamped on his head outside a shoe shop in High Street.

The victim remains in the Royal Victoria Hospital in west Belfast where his condition is believed to be stable.

Both of the attackers are described as having shaved heads.

One is understood to have been wearing a stripy shirt and the other was wearing a blue shirt.

Detectives believe there would have been a number of people in the High Street area at the time of the assault and they are keen to hear from witnesses.
