POLICE have charged a 16-year-old boy over an attack in north Belfast in which a youth had part of his ear bitten off.

According to the PSNI, the youth and another boy were attacked at Ballymoney Street in the Oldpark area around 12.35 am in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The victim of the ear-biting incident was taken to hospital where his condition is described as stable.

The teenager arrested over the attack has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.

The other victim was not seriously injured.

The teen suspect is to appear at the youth court in Belfast at a later date.
