THE search to find a man missing man feared drowned in Lough Ree is to resume on Monday morning.

Up to 50 divers and 60 civil defence volunteers scoured the lake near Athlone throughout the weekend for 30-year-old Daryl Burke.

The Co. Armagh man was one of three men who were in a boat that sunk on Lough Ree last Thursday.

David Warnock, 27, died in the tragedy, while a 60-year-old from Lurgan remains in a critical condition.

RNLI Lifeboat Operations Manager in Lough Ree Damien Delaney says progress was made in the search on Sunday, when a specialist rescue dog was drafted in to help.
