Detectives at Strand Road probing gun attack on house

DETECTIVES are investigating a gun attack on a house after neighbours raised the alarm.

The incident happened at Melmore Gardens in the Foyle area of Derry in the early hours of Wednesday morning, March 16.

The PSNI say it was reported that a loud bang was heard by neighbours at around 1am and upon arrival at the house, officers found the front window broken, strike marks on an inside wall and part of a bullet inside.

“The house was not occupied at the time of the incident and police are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and has any information which may assist them with their enquiries to contact Strand Road on 0845 600 8000.”
