Two men remanded in custody over the murder of Eamonn Ferguson in north Belfast

TWO men have faced a court charged with the murder of leading dissident republican Colin Duffy’s best pal in north Belfast in the early hours of last Saturday morning.

Eamonn Ferguson, 35, was found dead in a flat at Ardoyne Place shortly before 3 am.

In the dock at Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday were Louis Maguire, 26, of Ardoyne Place, Christopher Power, 31, of no fixed abode.

Mr Ferguson’s body was found at Mr Maguire’s flat in Ardoyne Place after the alarm was raised following a drink and drugs-fuelled party.

Neither of the accused applied for bail and both were remanded in custody to Maghaberry Prison.

The court was told that during several days of questioning both men had consistently denied any involvement in Mr Ferguson’s murder.
