DETECTIVES have arrested a man over the stabbing of his pensioner mum in west Belfast.
TheĀ 65-year-old mother is being treated in hospital after she was stabbed in the arm with a screwdriver.
It is alleged her son attacked her at a house in Stewartstown Avenue on Sunday.
The PSNI confirmed a 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm to the elderly woman.
The woman was treated at the Royal Victoria Hospital for a non life-threatening puncture wound.
Her son is currently in custody at Musgrave Street PSNI station about the screwdriver attack.
