WEST BELFAST NEWSAGENTS SHOP ROBBERY PROBED

Woodbourne PSNI stationDETECTIVES are appealing for information after a report of an armed robbery at business premises in the Durham Street area of West Belfast yesterday evening, Wednesday 5 March.

At approximately 6.45 pm, it was reported that a man entered a newsagents shop in the area.

He threatened a member of staff and demanded money.

It is believed he may have been armed with a sharp instrument. He made off on foot in the direction Grosvenor Road with a sum of cash.

He is described as being 5′ 6” tall in his early 20’s and of slim build.

He was wearing a dark coloured hooded top and had his face covered with a dark coloured scarf.

The member of staff was not injured during the incident but was left shaken.

Detectives would ask anyone who may have witnessed this incident or noticed anyone acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the incident or who has any information to contact them at Tennant Street CID on 0845 600 8000.
