DETECTIVES have charged a man with Class A drugs worth £300,000 following a protracted investigation across the Irish Sea.

The police have revealed that the 44-year-old suspected was arrested by Greater Manchester Police (GMP) on Sunday at the request of the PSNI’s Organised Crime Branch.

The PSNI had been trying to locate him a number of months.

The man was put on a flight to Belfast where he was formally arrested by the PSNI.

He was taken in for questioning over the discovery of quantities of illegal drugs which were found between last April and last October in the Lisburn area.

The PSNI say the suspect is to face a remand hearing at Craigavon Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning.
