DISSIDENT MURDER BID ON POLICE: MAN AND WOMAN ARRESTED

North Belfast pipe bomb murder bidANTI-TERROR cops have arrested a man and a woman over the investigation into a dissident republican gun attack on police in north Belfast last month.

The pair, who are both 26, were arrested in north Belfast on Friday morning and have been taken to Antrim serious crime suite for questioning.

At least ten shots were fired at three police vehicles at they drove along Crumlin Road on 5 December.

No-one was injured in the attack.

The police described the attack as reckless and said it was extremely fortunate that no officers or members of the public were killed.

Dissident gunmen opened fired with a high velocity Kalashnikov assault rifle from a platform built at Brompton Park.
