Detectives have arrested two men over a robbery at a jeweller’s shop in Lisburn

DETECTIVES have arrested two men over an armed robbery on a jewellery shop this week.

Two masked men armed with metal bars who threatened staff at the shop in Bow Street, Lisburn, Co Antrim around 4.50 pm on Thursday evening.

Police say two men, who were wearing balaclavas, stole jewellery during the heist.

They fled the scene in a blue car in the direction of Antrim Street.

On Saturday morning, police arrested two men aged 25 and 31.

They were detained in King Street close to Belfast City Centre. They are currently in custody being questioned.

None of the shop staff were injured and police in Lisburn have appealed for witnesses to contact them on 0845 600 8000.
