Police appeal for information after a man is assaulted in east Belfast on Thursday

DETECTIVES are investigating after a 22-year-old was left in hospital following a brutal gang attack in east Belfast.

The victim was threatened and assault by a gang at a flat in Dunseverick Lodge on Thursday at 8.20pm in the Castlereagh area of Belfast.

None of the gang were armed but wore scarves to cover their faces.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “The man was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.”
