Police dealing with a security alert on M2

POLICE are dealing with a security alert on the M2 in Co Antrim.

The motorway was closed between Sandyknowes and Corrs Corner after a suspicious object was reported in the area early on Thursday morning.

Part of the Ballycraigy Road has also been closed. Diversions are in place.

Police and the army bomb squad are at the scene.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area and seek an alternative routee.
