ONE of Ireland’s oldest wine companies Woodford Bourne NI has secured an exclusive contract to distribute the iconic Australian wine brand Penfolds across Northern Ireland.
With a history of over 165 years, Penfolds was founded by a young English doctor who migrated to one of his country’s most distant colonies and the brand is today renowned throughout the world for making a remarkable contribution to the Australian wine industry.
The award winning wines enjoy a strong following and the range includes luxury wines such as The Grange and the Bin Series and more accessible, everyday drinking wines such as Koonunga Hill and Rawsons Retreat.
Penfolds will be distributed in independent off licences and on trade outlets throughout the province and Gareth Bradley managing director of Woodford Bourne NI is proud to be working with the brand.
“We are absolutely delighted that Woodford Bourne will now be distributing Penfolds wine in Northern Ireland,” said Gareth.
“We will be working very closely with the brand to strengthen its position in Northern Ireland and I am confident it will go down very successfully with wine lovers right across the province,” he said.
“Penfolds has a rich Australian heritage and enjoys a strong international following from wine collectors to wine writers and winning this contract is another step in the right direction for Woodford Bourne becoming the wine supplier of choice in Northern Ireland,” he added.
Woodford Bourne NI is part of Robert Roberts which is based in Lisburn and is one of Northern Ireland’s leading sales, marketing and distribution companies. It currently distributes a number of other wine brands including Torres, Deakin Estate, MASI, Chapoutier, Cono Sur, Mumm champagne, J Moreau & Fils and many more.
