Police appeal over information after teenage gril punched and robbed in Belfast

POLICE are investigating after a 14-year-old girl was beaten up and robbed at a bus stop in Belfast city centre.

She was waiting at the stop in the Royal Avenue area at around 9.30pm on Thursday evening when three men approached her.

One of the men punched her in the face, knocking her to the ground.

He then kicked her in the back while another of the men went through her coat pockets.

The gang fled with a mobile phone and a sum of cash.

Police said the attacker was described as being around 16 or 17 years old and was wearing a black Adidas tracksuit, white Nike cap and Nike Airmax trainers.

The other two wore black clothes with their hoods up.

Officers are keen to speak to a woman who came to the girl’s assistance and gave her a lift home.
