Police warn householders not to let cold callers into their homes

POLICE have again warned the public about the dangers of ‘cold callers’ to their homes.

An elderly householder had a cold caller on Wednesday afternoon to their home on the Belfast Road in Comber, Co Down claiming to be from Northern Ireland Electricity.

The PSNI say: “He stated he wanted to check the rear garden for telegraph poles and the householder accompanied him into the garden.

“When the caller had left, the householder discovered £300 missing from the house.

“Police advice is never let any cold caller into your house without checking their identification first.

“Remember Quick Check.”
