A MAN has faced a court on Wednesday charged with unlawfully killing Monaghan teenager Jason McGovern.

Mark Donnelly, of Greencastle Road, between Greencastle and Mountfield, is accused of the manslaughter offence on December 31.

The 21-year-old appeared in the dock of Dungannon Magistrates Court.

A police officer told the court he believed he could connect the Donnelly to the charge.

He agreed to bail provided strict conditions were imposed.

Donnelly, who was arrested on Tuesday morning, has already appeared in court charged with affray in relation to the death of the Monaghan teenager.

The 19-year-old from Tydavnet was found dead in a house in Emyvale on the morning of December 31 after a night out in Omagh where police believe he was attacked on two separate occasions.

An 18-year-old who was also arrested on Tuesday has been released unconditionally.

On Tuesday, a 21-year-old woman appeared at Omagh Magistrates’ Court charged in connection with the Jason McGovern investigation.

Aisling McAleer, 21, of Aghaboy Road, near Greencastle, is charged with perverting the course of justice.

Four other local people have already appeared in court in connection with the death.

Jason O’Brien (21) of Rylagh Road, Aaron Davis (19) of Beattie Villas, Aaron Bradley (18) of Waterworks Road and a fourth 17-year-old man who cannot be named because of his age, have all been charged with having fought and made an affray on December 31.
