Navy paint thrown over Glenavy war memorial

POLICE have launched a hate crime investigation after a paint bomb attack on a Co Antrim war memorial.

All four sides of the monument in Glenavy’s Main Street were covered with navy paint.

A number of Poppy wreaths laid at the memorial during Remembrance Sunday last weekend were also damaged.

The PSNI said officers investigating officers the attack happened in the early hours of Friday morning.

Anyone with information about the attack or witnessed those behind is asked to contact police.
