MOUTH WATERING NIGHT OF FOOTBALL IN QUARTER FINALS OF IRN BRU LEAGUE CUP

Ballymena Utd manager Glenn Ferguson

A TOP night of football is in store in the quarter finals of the Irn Bru League Cup.

The mouth watering ties are Ballymena Utd v Linfield at the Ballymena Showgrounds and Cliftonville v Portadown at Solitude.

Ballymena Utd beat Dungannon Swifts 3-1 last Friday night and the former Linfield double act of Glenn Ferguson and Lee Doherty has the Bannsider’s management team riding high in the Danske Bank Irish Premier League.

Linfield seem to have hit a rich vein of form after their 3-0 win away to Donegal Celtic at the weekend.

Table topping Cliftonville, who drew away to Glentoran on Saturday at the Oval, face Ronnie McFall’s Portadown.

Crusaders should see of lowly Lisburn Distillery at Solitude and Glentoran are favourites to see off Glenavon at Mourneview after they were hammered 5-1 on Saturday by the Crues.
