PSNI probing suspected arson attack in Antrim

A woman has escaped injury in an early morning suspected arson attack.

Firefighters and police were called to the blaze in the Thornway area of Antrim town at around 1 am.

The fire quickly spread to the house after causing extensive damage to a shed at the rear of the property.

Police said the cause of the fire is still under investigation but officers suspect it may have been started deliberately.

THE PSNI they have appealed to anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area to contact them.
