DNA TESTS TO IDENTIFY BODY FOUND IN RESERVOIR AS COPS HUNT MISSING STEPHEN BUCHANAN

Stephen Buchanan has been missing since last month.

TESTS to identify the remains of a body found at the weekend are expected to be completed in the next few days.

A probe is also under way to confirm the identity and the cause of death.

The 56-year-old was last seen on 26 September in the Groomsport/Millisle area around 14:30 BST.

A post mortem examination is also due to be carried out.

The body was located in the upper reservoir on the Woodburn Road, Carrickfergus, on Saturday evening.

Police have said they are continuing to search for a black and orange Canondale bicycle and other cycling equipment that Mr Buchanan used.
