DETECTIVES investigating the death of a man have arrested a 27-year-old male on suspicion of robbery and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The victim who died at the Simon Community hostel on Henry Street in Ballymena has not yet been named.

The cause of his death has not been confirmed until the completion of a post mortem examination.

Detectives have seized a number of items for examination as part of its investigation.

DETECTIVES are investigating after a man was left shaken following a loyalist paramilitary shooting incident.

It happened at a house in Ballymoney in Co Antrim on Tuesday night around 11.30 pm.

Police said a number of men entered the house in the town’s Henry Street and fired at him but he escaped uninjured.

Detectives have appealed for anyone with information about the shooting to contact them at Ballymena CID on the non-emergency 101 number.

Police appeal for information after woman assaulted and robbed in north Belfast

POLICE have appealed for information after a woman was attacked and robbed in north Belfast.

The victim was assault in area of Henry street on Saturday, September.

She was also robbed of her mobile phone after offering assistance to a male in the area during the incident which happened around 8 pm.

Her attacked is described as aged 17, around 5ft 7in tall , wearing a grey and blue track suit.

The PSNI say he has “distinctive scuff marks” to side of his face.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or can identify the attacker is asked to ring police 0845 600 8000 or pass information confidentially through crimestoppers on 0800 500 111.
