Army bomb disposal robot being used to examine suspicious object left on a bus

A NUMBER of homes have been evacuated as a result of a security alert.

Police are currently in attendance at the scene in the Northlands Road area of L’Derry where a suspicious device has been left on a bus.

Bomb disposal experts are also at the scene.

A number of residents have been moved out of their homes in the Springvale Park area.

The Northland Road has been has been closed between Branch Roundabout and Springvale Park and police are advising motorists to avoid the area.
