The man has been charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.

He is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court this morning, Saturday, March 2 for a first remand hearing.

As is usual procedure all charges will be reviewed by the PPS.

Detectives from the PSNI’s Major Investigation Team, investigating the murder of Kevin Conway in west Belfast on Tuesday 9th January, have charged a man with his murder.

The 27-year-old is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Monday,  January 29, for a first remand hearing.

As is usual procedure, the charge will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

A 53-year-old man who was arrested in the west Belfast area on Saturday 27th January in relation to the murder, remains in police custody.

So far three men have been arrested over Conway’s murder.

One has been charged, one released on bail and one is currently in custody being questioned.

Detectives from the PSNI’s Organised Crime Unit have charged a 33-year-old man following an operation in the Belfast Harbour area yesterday morning, Tuesday, December 20.

The man has been charged with possession of a Class B Controlled Drug and possession of a Class B Controlled Drug with intent to supply.

He is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court tomorrow, Wednesday 21st December.

As is normal procedure all charges are reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

The charges relate to the seizure of suspected cannabis with an estimated street value of £1m which was found packed into divan beds after a vehicle was searched at Belfast Harbour.

Detective Inspector Shaw said: “This search, seizure and arrest was conducted as part of our ongoing commitment to address the criminality linked to drug importation, supply and use that often results in drug debts, drug addiction and drug related deaths within our communities.

“Through multi-agency efforts we will continue to carry out operations, to break the cycle of those who seek to cause harm through the illegal importation and supply of drugs in Northern Ireland, and to dismantle the organised criminal gangs who profit from this incredibly harmful activity.

“This type of large scale importation is conducted by sophisticated organised crime gangs and these gangs are utterly ruthless in their exploitation of the most vulnerable in our society and they cause this misery for no other reason than personal profit.

“We cannot tackle this scourge without the help of the public. I appeal to anyone with information about illegal drug use or supply, to call police on the non-emergency number 101.”

Detectives from the PSNI’s Major Investigation Team, investigating the stabmurder of 31-year-old Ryan McNab, have charged a man with murder.

The 24-year-old man, who is understood to be from Bangor, Co Down, is expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court on October, 24, for a first remand hearing.

Mr McNab was found dead at a flat in Rathcoole’s Barna Square on Saturday, October 22.

Detectives from Musgrave CID have charged an 18-year-old man following a significant fire at the Old Cathedral Buildings in the Church Street area of Belfast, and the burglary of a nearby business premises, during the early hours of Monday, October 3.

The man was charged with arson with intent to endanger life, burglary and possession of a Class B controlled drug.

He is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court today, Tuesday, October 4, for a first remand hearing. 

Detectives from the PSNI’s Organised Crime Unit have charged a 41-year-old man to appear at Belfast Magistrates’ Court today, Wednesday, July 20.

He has been charged with a number of offences, including two counts of attempted possession of a Class A controlled drug with intent to supply and fraudulently importing a Class A controlled drug.

The charges relate to the arrest of a man at Belfast International Airport on Monday and the subsequent recovery of suspected heroin with an estimated street value of £150,000. 

Four men have been charged following the seizure of around £510,000 worth of Class B drugs in Belfast on Tuesday.

The PSNI announced the arrests of the four men on Wednesday after searches of both vehicles and properties in the city.

Around £555,000 worth of Class B drugs had also been recovered following searches in Lurgan and Belfast.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Two men, aged 45 and 40, face charges including possession of a Class B controlled drug, possession of a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply and conspiracy to supply a Class B controlled drug.

“Both have also been reported to the Public Prosecution Service on suspicion of possession of a Class A controlled drug.

“A 53-year-old man has been charged with possession of a Class B controlled drug, possession with intent to supply and criminal damage. “

“All three men are due to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

“Meanwhile, a 57-year-old man has been charged with possession of Class B controlled drugs and possession with intent to supply.

“He is due before Belfast Magistrates’ Court on June 15.”

A MAN has been charged over a Paramilitary Crime Task Force probe into west Belfast UDA drug dealing.

The 37 year oldhas been charged with possession of a class A controlled drug, possession of a class A drug with intent to supply, possession of criminal property, converting criminal property and possession of a class C drug.

He is to appear at Belfast Magistrates’ Court today, Saturdaym February 26 for a first remand hearing.

The charges follow searches conducted by the Paramilitary Crime Task Force in west Belfast on Friday as part of an ongoing investigation into suspected drugs criminality linked to the West Belfast UDA.

Around £37,000 of suspected cocaine and £5,000 in cash was recovered during the searches.

DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Paramilitary Crime Task Force, investigating suspected drugs criminality linked to East Belfast UVF, have charged a man in his 50s.

The man has been charged with offering to supply Class A drugs, being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs, possession with intent to supply and supply of Class A drugs.

He is set to appear at Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Friday, January 7, 2022, for a first remand hearing.

DETECTIVES investigating a number of incidents in north Belfast on Sunday, December 12 have charged a 19 year old man.

He has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated burglary, possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit and indictable offence and attempted hijacking.

The man is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates’ Court today, Tuesday, December 14, for a first remand hearing.
