TWO MEN CHARGED OVER EAST BELFAST UVF DRUG SUPPLY RACKET

Detectives from the PSNI’s Paramilitary Crime Task Force (PCTF) investigating the drug dealing activities of east Belfast UVF have charged two men.

One of the men aged 29 has been charged with possession of a Class B drug and possession of a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply. 

He is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates’ Court this morning, Thursday, March 24, for a first remand hearing. 

Meanwhile, a 24-year-old man has also been charged with possession of a Class B controlled drug, possession of a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply and supply of a Class B controlled drug.

He is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court on April 21.

As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the PPS. 

It is understood the charges relate to searches carried out in north Belfast, south Belfast and Comber in Co Down yesterday (Wednesday, 23rd March) in relation to an ongoing PCTF investigation into drugs supply activity of East Belfast UVF.
