TEEN CHARGED OVER NORTH BELFAST BOMB FIND

Laganside Court houseDETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Terrorist Investigation Unit have charged an 18-year-old male over the discovery of a bomb in north Belfast.

He has been charged with collecting documents and possession of articles likely to be of use to terrorists.

A controlled explosion was carried out on the device at the Crumlin Road junction with Brompton Park last Friday, 1 May.

Police chiefs described it as a “substantial device”.

The man is due to face Belfast Magistrates’ Court this morning, Saturday, May 9.
