THE Markets district in south Belfast is packed this morning with mourners for the funeral of murdered IRA leader Jock Davison.

There was no funeral mass for the 47-year-old.

Instead, a private service was held at his home he shared with his partner of ten years.

His remains were then taken by hearse along Stewart Street, past Central Station, and along the back of the Short Strand before making its way to the M1 and onto Milltown Cemetery for burial.

Davison was to receive full IRA honours.

Detectives have arrested three men for the murder, including criminal Brendan Devine.

All three were released unconditionally.
