A man struck a car in north Belfast is in a critical condition in the Royal Victoria Hospital, police say.

The accident happened shortly before 10 pm on the New Lodge Road last night, Tuesday, March 10.

Police initially described the man’s condition as serious.

But today it has been revealed that the man is now critical.

The New Lodge Road was closed for a time following the incident but has since re-opened.

Another car was struck by the vehicle as it left the scene.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the crash to contact them on the 101 non emergency number.
