DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Major Investigation Team are questioning a 44-year-old man over the murder last year of renegade dissident Tommy Crossan.

The man was arrested in Armagh on Wednesday and taken to the serious crime suite in Antrim for questioning.

The suspect is the latest in a number of arrests over the Good Friday murder.

Former Continuity IRA boss Crossan was gunned down at a fuel huxster he was operating in yard beside the old Peter Pan factory off the Springfield Road.

Security sources say it was an “execution-style” killing with bullet wounds to his head and upper torso.

No one has claimed responsibility but dissident sources say the INLA planned and carried out the murder.

The first to be detained was dissident republican Tommy Diver.

He was later released without charge and denied all knowledge of the attack.
