MAN SUFFERS FACIAL INJURIES IN NORTH BELFAST ASSAULT

Police crime scene picDETECTIVES are investigating after a man was treated in hospital for injuries to his head and face after an assault in north Belfast.

At around 5.15pm, a 26-year-old man was walking on the Antrim Road when he was assaulted by an unknown man at the junction of Brucevale.

He was treated in hospital for injuries to his head and face.

The male is described as being aged in his mid 30s, approximately six foot tall, of medium build, thinning grey hair and wearing a dark coat with a fur lined hood.

Detective Constable Mark Gillespie said: “I would appeal for anyone who witnessed the assault or anyone with any information to contact CID at Tennent Street Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.

“Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
