TWO ARRESTED OVER DRUGS STOP IN SOUTH BELFAST

Police crime scene picPOLICE are jubilant after hawk-eyed cops stopped a car on Monday on suspicion that the driver was under the influence of drugs.

The 25 year old driver was arrested at the scene on the Ormeau Road, south Belfast, for driving whilst unfit, suspicion of theft and handling stolen goods and on suspicion of possession of Class C drugs. He was released on bail pending further enquiries.

The 24 year old passenger was arrested and charged for possession of Class C drugs and will appear at Belfast Magistrates’ Court early next month.

A spokesman said: “This was a great catch by the officers!
