Detective Chief Inspector Colin Gillis said: “Shortly after midday, it was reported that a man wearing a dark jacket with a vertical red line down the centre of the jacket entered the shop, threatened two members of staff and demanded money.
“A sum of money was handed over and the man is then believed to have made off on foot towards Weyland Street. No staff members were injured in the incident.
“I would ask anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area at the time of the incident or who has any information about this incident to contact CID at Musgrave Police Station on the non emergency number 101.
“Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
