PORTADOWN thumped Linfield 3-0 at Shawrock Park in the opening game of the Dankse Bank Irish Premier League.

A brace from Gary Twigg puts the Ports on top of the league after the first game.

It was an embarrassing opening game for new Linfield manager Warren Feeney who was hoping to come away with at least a point.

But Ronnie McFall’s Portadown ruined the Feeney party.

Title holder’s Cliftonville, without Liam Boyce now, drew a scorelesss draw with Glentoran at Solitude.
