TWO TAKEN TO HOSPITAL AFTER CARS CRASH

POLICE ACCIDENT 2POLICE are investigating after two people were taken to hospital following a two-car collision in the early hours of this morning.

The country-bound carriageway of the Foyle Embankment in Derry city centre was closed for a period after the crash which occurred at the thoroughfare’s junction with the Foyle roundabout at around 1.00am.

The driver and passenger of one of the cars involved were taken to Altnagelvin Hospital by ambulance for treatment for injuries which are not believed to be serious.

Fire crews attended the scene but it is understood all involved were able to free themselves from both vehicles.

The PSNI’s Collision Investigation Unit is investigating the crash.
