A fledgling Belfast-based company is making huge strides in the event ticketing world after developing an innovative new online platform that has seen it secure more than 250 events and conferences in just eight months.

Get Invited, which formed in October 2013, is the brainchild of founding members Kyle Gawley, David Turner and Christopher Murphy and offers event organisers a ‘one stop shop’ to handle tickets sales and registration as well as providing valuable feedback from customers via the company’s unique social media tracking system.

The idea behind the company started as a University Masters project and quickly progressed with the development of an online platform and mobile app which provides a paperless ticketing and registration process.

In addition, Get Invited has created a social media timeline that allows clients to view online conversations, photos and videos from the event, with real time analytics that enable event organisers to monitor the success of the event or identify potential opportunities or problems and make important ‘on the spot’ decisions to maximise such opportunities or rectify any issues before they fully develop.

The company is also in the process of developing an online social community for people who go to events and for organisers which will continually grow and provide a forum for attendees to discuss events they are attending and find out about forthcoming events.

Since its formation, Get Invited has secured contracts throughout Northern Ireland and Great Britain and as far away as Italy, New York and Tokyo. Key wins to date include October’s ‘The Web Is’ event, a 3,000 delegate conference to celebrate 25 years of the World Wide Web with well-known speakers from the internet industry. The web design conference ‘From the Front’ takes place in Bologna, Italy, in September with guest speakers including Mozilla developer evangelist Christian Heilmann. Other upcoming events include CultureTECH and the DANI Awards in Derry~Londonderry and a Wallace and Gromit event later in the year.

“Whether it is a business conference, music festival or charity ball, the organisation of any event can be stressful and problematic,” said Get Invited CEO and co-founder Kyle Gawley. “Get Invited offers a comprehensive easy to use solution to help organisers sell and promote their events with real time feedback from attendees to help ensure the event is as successful as possible, now and in future years.

“We work with organisers to make their event a success. From providing an easy to use platform for attendees to buy tickets to allowing event planners to track conversations online via a bespoke social media timeline. This is extremely valuable for organisers as they can gain insight into what people are saying about the event and maximise the potential success by communicating with attendees. Also, our system seamlessly integrates with our clients’ websites and also their mailing lists so they can maintain and add to their existing contacts,” he added.

“From a budgeting perspective, we are very competitively priced, offering more features for less money than competing companies, and our clients get paid weekly unlike other companies who will hold on to clients’ money for days after the event.

“We’re a team of passionate designers and developers who organise events ourselves so we know what matters. We believe that we’ve developed a beautifully designed solution with unique features to empower event organisers to make the most of their events and this is reflected by the incredible success we have enjoyed to date, which has surpassed all of our initial targets,” concluded Mr Gawley.
