POLICE RELEASE VAN DRIVER OVER TEEN BOY’S DEATH

Police accidentPOLICE have confirmed that a 14 year old pedestrian has died following a road traffic collision on the Scarva Road, Banbridge this morning, Thursday 20 March.

The collision occurred shortly before 8 am.

A 30 year old male driver of the van involved was arrested for questioning.

He has now been released unconditionally, say the PSNI.

The Scarva Road remains closed and traffic is being diverted along the Blue Road.

Police would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who was travelling on the Scarva Road around the time of the collision to contact the Collision Investigation Unit at Steeple Police Station or Police at Banbridge Police Station by calling 0845 600 8000.
