UUP MLA Michael McGimpsey condemns racist abuse of Anna Lo

THE Ulster Unionist Party’s South Belfast MLA, Michael McGimpsey, has condemned the racist abuse which has been directed at the Alliance Party MLA Anna Lo.

The former Health Minister said: “There is no excuse for racist abuse of any kind and I condemn it unreservedly.

“A new Northern Ireland is emerging in the 21st Century and it is a multi-cultural, multi-racial multi-faith society.

“This is the new normal and everyone must accept that and get used to it.

“We are seeking to attract foreign investment and to encourage tourists to come and visit.

“We have a much better chance of succeeding if the world views us as a tolerant, welcoming and open society,” added Dr McGimpsey
