DETECTIVES have charged a 42-year-old man with firearms offences.
He was arrested Saturday evening following a report of an altercation between a number of people in the Rashee Park area of Ballyclare.
However, when police arrived they found no one fighting.
But police did spot a man in possession of a firearm.
He was arrested a short time later and and taken in for questioning.
Detectives from Newtownabbey CID charged him on Sunday night with four offences including possession of a firearm in suspicious circumstances.
The man was released on police bail to face Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Friday, December 20.
