Police in Downpatrick investigate gunpoint attack on woman

DETECTIVES are investigating after a woman was assaulted and threatened at gunpoint.

The attack happened around 4 am on Thursday morning in Downpatrick, Co Down outside the woman’s home in Demesne Crescent.

Two masked men dressed in black, one suspected of carrying a firearm, threatened the woman, while the other hit her twice on the head.

Detectives at Downpatrick CID have appealed for anyone with information to contact them on 0845 600 8000.

One of the men is described as being approximately 5ft 8ins tall and of medium build.

The second is described as around 6ft tall and also of medium build.
