Woman bailed after police recover gun and ammunition in west Belfast

A 20-year-old woman has been freed on police bail following the discovery of a gun and ammunition in west Belfast.

She was detained during a planned search operation on a house at Magnolia Park on Sunday afternoon by the PSNI’s Serious Crime Branch.

Army technical officers were called to the scene to examine the gun and ammunition.

They were both taken away for forensic examination.

The female suspect was released pending further inquiries by detectives.
